Every dollar.
Accounted for.

We turn opaque cloud bills into a number your engineering, finance and board teams all trust — then work systematically to reduce it. Tagging, unit economics, savings plans and anomaly detection across AWS, Azure and GCP.

The problem

Cloud bills grow silently, then suddenly.

Most organisations can tell you their total cloud spend. Very few can tell you what a single customer, feature or product line costs to run. Without that link, cost is a number that arrives monthly — not a signal engineers can act on.

FinOps closes that loop. Every resource tagged and allocated. Every dollar traced to a team, product or customer. Every commitment optimised against real usage patterns — not last year's spreadsheet.

The result isn't just a smaller bill. It's a cost model your finance team can forecast, your engineers can influence and your board can trust. Cost becomes an engineering input, not an afterthought.

Attribution first

No optimisation is credible until every dollar is mapped to an owner.

Unit economics

Cost per request, per tenant, per feature — the metrics engineers can own.

Continuous

Anomaly detection and waste sweeps run daily — not quarterly.

Shared ownership

Engineering, finance and product accountable together — not one team blamed.

What's included

Six capabilities, one FinOps practice.

Engage the full programme or start with a single workstream. Every capability is delivered by practitioners who run FinOps in production.

01

Cost Visibility & Allocation

Tagging strategy, account structure and allocation rules that map every dollar to a team, product or customer.

  • Tagging policy & enforcement
  • Cost allocation rules & shared-cost split
  • CUR / FOCUS data pipeline setup
  • Showback & chargeback reporting
02

Savings Plans & Commitments

Data-driven commitment strategy across RIs, Savings Plans, CUDs and Azure Reservations — sized to real usage, not guesswork.

  • AWS Savings Plans & Reserved Instances
  • Azure Reservations & Savings Plans
  • GCP Committed Use Discounts
  • Coverage & utilisation monitoring
03

Rightsizing & Waste Elimination

Systematic removal of idle, oversized and orphaned resources — the fastest savings available in almost every estate.

  • Idle & orphaned resource sweeps
  • Instance & storage rightsizing
  • Graviton / ARM migration analysis
  • Storage class & lifecycle optimisation
04

Unit Economics & KPIs

Cost per request, per tenant, per transaction — the metrics that connect cloud spend to business value.

  • Unit cost metric definition & tracking
  • Cost-per-customer & gross margin visibility
  • Engineering-facing cost dashboards
  • Trend analysis & efficiency targets
05

Anomaly Detection & Forecasting

Daily spend anomaly alerts and rolling forecasts that catch problems in hours, not on next month's invoice.

  • Cost anomaly detection & alerting
  • Rolling forecasts with confidence bands
  • Budget guardrails & spend limits
  • Scenario modelling for planning cycles
06

FinOps Culture & Enablement

Training, rituals and governance that make cost a shared responsibility — not a quarterly email from finance.

  • FinOps Foundation framework adoption
  • Engineering cost-awareness workshops
  • Cost review rituals & governance cadence
  • Executive reporting & board-ready summaries
Unit economics

From "we spend $412K a month" to "each customer costs $1.84 to serve".

The most powerful number in FinOps isn't the total bill. It's the unit cost — the cost of serving one customer, processing one transaction, running one API call. That's the number engineers can influence and finance can forecast.

We build the pipeline that connects cloud usage data to your business metrics, then instrument dashboards that show every team exactly how their decisions move the number.

Discuss unit economics

Cost per business metric

Cost per order, per tenant, per GB processed, per API call — defined with your team and tracked continuously.

Engineering dashboards

Cost visible where engineers already look — in Grafana, Datadog or your internal portal — not in a separate finance tool.

Efficiency targets

Quarterly unit-cost goals that align engineering priorities with business outcomes — not arbitrary cuts.

FOCUS-aligned data

Cost data normalised across AWS, Azure and GCP using the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification.

How we deliver

From opaque bill to owned cost model.

A four-stage engagement with measurable outcomes at every gate. You always know what's being built, why, and what it saves.

01

Baseline

Spend baseline by service, account and team. Identify the biggest cost drivers and the untagged, unallocated spend nobody owns.

02

Instrument

Tagging policy, cost allocation rules, FOCUS data pipeline and dashboards — so every dollar has a name against it.

03

Optimise

Commitments, rightsizing, waste elimination and architecture changes shipped in two-week increments with measured savings.

04

Operate

Anomaly monitoring, monthly cost reviews, unit-economics tracking and enablement — or a structured handover to your team.

What you get

Artefacts your finance and engineering teams will both use.

Every engagement produces working pipelines, documented policy and dashboards — not a savings estimate that never materialises.

Spend baseline & opportunity report

Where every dollar goes today, ranked by savings opportunity and effort to realise.

Tagging policy & enforcement

Written policy, IaC modules and SCPs that prevent untagged resources from being deployed.

FOCUS-aligned cost pipeline

Normalised cost data across clouds, loaded into your warehouse for analytics and reporting.

Cost dashboards & unit economics

Executive, engineering and product views — plus the unit-cost metrics that connect them.

Commitment strategy document

Savings Plans, RI and CUD coverage plan sized against 90-day usage — with renewal calendar.

Runbooks & enablement training

Documented monthly rituals, anomaly workflows and workshops so cost stays owned.

Tooling

We work with the FinOps stack you already have.

Vendor-neutral by design. We'll use your existing platform if it works — and tell you honestly when something better fits.

Helix Pay: $1.4M saved in nine months.

Fintech · Series C

From untagged chaos to per-transaction cost visibility.

A payments company had grown from $40K to $380K in monthly cloud spend in eighteen months, with no allocation and no unit-economics view. Finance couldn't forecast. Engineering couldn't see the impact of architecture choices.

“For the first time we can tell the board what it costs to process a payment — and show them the number falling quarter over quarter. FinOps stopped being a cost-cutting exercise and became an engineering discipline.”

Questions

Before you book a call.

No. We're vendor-neutral and often build a lightweight pipeline on native tools (AWS CUR, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing) before recommending any third-party platform. If a commercial platform genuinely fits, we'll say so — and if it doesn't, we won't push one.

Cost-cutting is a one-off exercise that damages engineering velocity and gets reversed within two quarters. FinOps is an operating model: attribution, unit economics, continuous optimisation and shared ownership. The savings are larger and they compound, because the system keeps working after we leave.

The fastest wins — idle resource elimination, storage class changes, orphaned volumes — typically land in weeks 3–6. Commitment optimisation and rightsizing show up over 60–90 days as we build confidence in usage patterns. Architectural changes take longer but often produce the largest long-term savings.

A full spend baseline across your cloud accounts, identification of the top ten savings opportunities ranked by value and effort, a tagging and allocation gap analysis, and a written findings report. It takes about a week and requires read-only billing access.

Assessments and fixed-scope optimisation projects are fixed-fee, quoted after the cost assessment. Ongoing FinOps retainers are monthly, scaled to the size of your cloud estate and the number of teams involved. You'll get a written scope and price before any work begins — never a percentage of savings.
